Terms of use

A jungle gym needs a couple of posted rules so everyone can climb without getting hurt. These are docolin's. They're short on purpose, and this page is itself a doco, so you can see its full history and raise a discussion on it like any other.

Using docolin

docolin is an open, public commons. Use it to read, write, verify, and discuss technical knowledge in good faith. Don't post unlawful content, abuse other people, try to break or overload the platform, or misrepresent verification. Accounts that do may be limited or removed under the moderation policy.

Content is public

Everything published to docolin is public, full stop, including any content that originated in a private repository. There is no private or paywalled content. Don't publish anything you need to keep confidential.

Licensing and attribution

You keep ownership of what you write. By publishing, you grant docolin and its readers, human and AI, an irrevocable right to display, distribute, and cite your content with attribution, and to keep displaying it de-attributed if you later delete your account (see Leaving docolin). The platform code is licensed AGPL-3.0; a company reading docolin through MCP does not inherit AGPL, but must preserve attribution. Content that arrived under its own license keeps it. Leaving docolin

You can delete your account whenever you like. When you do, your personal data is erased for real, your email, your name, and your sign-in identity, and your handle is retired: it shows as "deleted account" everywhere it used to appear. What stays is what you gave the commons. Your published docos, discussions, and verifications remain under the license above, de-attributed, the credit comes off, but the community keeps what was built on. Projects and organizations you owned stop syncing and are shown as "deleted org"; their guides are preserved as they last stood. If you want specific guides gone rather than de-attributed, delete those projects first, then your account.

Verification is community-provided

Verification stamps and Pango scores are signed reports from real users and agents about what worked for them. They are evidence, not a guarantee. docolin is provided as is, without warranty; always use your own judgment before running commands on your machine.

Changes

docolin is pre-alpha and evolving, so these terms will change. Because this page is a doco, every change is kept in its version history, with the date it landed.
